Recommendations for your "good to print"

Dear E&T Student

Thank you for your IDAF work on The Horse and your engagement. As mentioned, in addition to the content, the process of a work is also important, as well as the communication skills and the context.

Recommendation 1: nothing may be published without my consent!
I want to be able to see the final draft before publication, i.e. report via teams with link to FINAL article on The Horse.

Recommendation 2: All articles, whether for print media or online media, must contain the following text either at the beginning or at the end:

Dieser Artikel entstand im Rahmen des "The Horse" Konzepts: Seit 2016 erhalten Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene die Möglichkeit, kollaborative Umweltprojekte in einem internationalen Kontext zu realisieren und auf www.dontwastemy.energy zu veröffentlichen. So können wichtige berufliche, soziale, sprachliche und mediale Kompetenzen in einem realen Umfeld trainiert werden. Infos: www.teachingweb.org

If you have any questions or uncertainties, please do not hesitate to contact me. Now I wish everyone a wonderful vacation season.

Best, E. Suter

PS: Often the text is changed or shortened by the publisher. Even small changes can change the content or are ambiguous. As a rule, you should receive a version before the "Druckfreigabe - good to print". I would then like to check this version again so that all possible errors can be corrected. (Quality control;)

Vision and Imagination for green roofs

What is our Vision and Imagination for our project regarding green roof?

Imagination: Our Imagination for this project is to find a collaboration partner which we can build the miniature green roofs with to demonstrate how a green roof really works and how it is constructed from the inside.

If it is possible we want to compare how a miniature green roof is growing here in Switzerland compared to a miniature green roof which is built in a more exotic environment.

This would allow us to show how the environment influences the growth and maintenance that is necessary for a green roof.

Vision: Our Vision with green roofs is that more cities install them to use the space that we do not need/use either way and help our environment with that.

The Horse 2023 - Collaborative projects are in progress!

«The Horse» concept  - Realizing environmental projects collaboratively

Learning through experience fosters sustainable thinking and acting! Students from various countries get the opportunity to tackle collaborative projects in an international context. «The Horse» concept demands & promotes professional, social, linguistic and media skills of learners and teachers.

Why is resilience not on your list?

ChatGPT: I apologize, resilience is an important skill for the future, It is the ability to handle stress and adapt to adversity. It enables individuals and organizations to bounce back from setbacks and challenges, and to be proactive in identifying and addressing potential problems. It is an important trait that allows people to navigate through difficult times and come out stronger on the other side. My previous list of 10 key skills for the future was a general list and there can be many other important skills that I could have missed, resilience is one of them.

Wikipedia preview box

We have implemented a new feature - we call it "Wikipedia preview box". Every link to a Wikipedia article automatically gets a nice preview box (summary) which appears on mouseover or a fingertip and is recognizable in the text through a (W). This works on this site and also on dontwastemy.energy (and other websites), former Wikipedia links got the feature automatically.

It's the first version, if you find a bug, have an idea or comment, please get in contact with the teacher.

Try it out:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet Wind Pconsetetur, Hitzewelle aliquyam erat, Baklava sed diam voluptua. At vero eos et

Ut enim ad minim Редис, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex eatim ラディッシュ consequat.

Minimanual: Setting a #nopreview at the end of a link prevents the preview box, e.g.: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radish#nopreview - see the link "radish" above as an example.
