Vision and imagination

Team with Inês, Nina and Alisha

What are our imaginations for the project?

Quote from Nina: "When I joined the team and thought about the project, the first thing that came to mind is my own co2 emission. I drive a car and make quite a few kilometers a day, so it isn‘t too easy to reduce the co2 emission since public transport is inconvient in my situation. But I thought about other things I could change, like buying local food or using second hand clothing instead of fast fashion. As a side note I want to add that there is an interesting project on the project of fast fashion." More...

Project Vision

Our project aims to address the challenges of energy consumption and sustainability in ski resorts. These ski resorts are known to be high energy consumers, especially for the production of artificial snow. Therefore, the main objective of our project is to find and promote innovative solutions that will help ski resorts to reduce their energy consumption and improve their sustainability, while ensuring an enjoyable skiing experience for visitors.

To achieve our goals, we will conduct an in-depth study and analysis of the current energy consumption of ski resorts and assess the environmental impact of artificial snowmaking. Based on this analysis, we will identify and evaluate potential technologies, practices and measures that can help reduce energy consumption and improve the sustainability of ski areas.

Project Vision: Ski Resorts Energy Efficiency and Sustainability

Our project aims to address the energy consumption and sustainability practices of ski resorts. Ski resorts are significant consumers of energy, with a large portion being used for the creation of artificial snow. This project seeks to identify and promote innovative solutions that can help ski resorts reduce their energy consumption and increase sustainability, while also maintaining the quality and quantity of snow for skiers and snowboarders.

Objectives:
Conduct research and analysis on the current energy consumption of ski resorts and the impact of artificial snow creation on the environment.
Identify and evaluate potential technologies, practices, and policies that can reduce energy consumption and increase sustainability in ski resorts.

Vision & Imagination: bottle bricks

My thoughts about the project:

  • I'm curious about how much plastic waste I produce.
  • I'm curious about how long it takes to fill up a bottle.
  • Does Switzerland use bottle bricks?
  • Is it useful?
  • How can we produce less plastic waste?
  • Are there alternatives?
  • What can we do with bigger plastic pieces / hard plastic?

Ideas:

  • Choose other packaging
  • Bring food from home
  • Eat out
  • Use reusable bottle
  • Tote bag
  • use scissors to make smaller pieces that fit in the bottle

Are you interessted in a different way of live?

Are you interested in a different way of life?

Would you like to learn something new?

This might be something for you! The way of life from the indigenous people, the Penan, from Borneo. Their way is severely different to what we know. The goal for this project is to show, that there is a different way to live your life and find happiness. We want to show the differences between the two very different cultures and try to figure out what we could change in our lives to life incoherent with nature.

Vision & Imagination - Thoughts of my Project

Any thoughts about the project:

  • Does the war have an impact on the environment?
  • How did people live before the war?
  • What is the situation now with water supply, electricity and waste disposal?
  • Can you put the whole thing at different times (before, during, and after the war)?
  • I already have an interview partner
  • Is there any improvement or deterioration since the beginning of the war?

Vision: We would like to provide a realistic insight into the ecological/crisis situation in Ukraine. Therefore the best idea that came to our mind was to ask the people affected. An interview is the best option to reach this goal. We would like to interview several people in order to create a more differentiated insight. (Step 1)

Vision & Imagination to project: Wind Power

Our thoughts about the project:

  • I would like to know more about wind power
  • Interesting would be to know how turbines work
  • Is wind power good for switzerland?
  • How long it takes to make enough energy to run a tv?
  • How heavy is a turbine?
  • Is it faster to make energy from turbines or from solar penals?

wastewater treatment plant - How to get energy from wastewater / vision & imagination

Well, that's my title. Nothing special, but that should clarify a process that many (or at least I) do not know. Here in Switzerland, wastewater treatment is a commonplace that is used by the vast majority of people. In the context of the subject "Technology and Environment", I would like to get to the bottom of this. For this I have thought about some guiding principles:

… Hold on, before I think about these, I would like to have the exact definition of vision and imagination first.

The vision is the idea of an ideal future state that is aspired to. Here: how should wastewater be treated in the future?

Vision, Mission, Strategie einfach erklärt

An imagination is a content represented in the mind, which goes back to a perception, usually also with a mental processing of perceived content. An imagination can result in something that is not present in reality or could even never be present. Likewise, however, imaginations can also represent realistic future-related expectations, or they can be based on memories.

Definition Vorstellung

Now that that's cleared up, I can get back to my questions….

Why did I choose this project?
This is where my biggest problem actually starts. I know that I want to find out what happens between the drainage of the water in the apartment to the complete reuse. Because I have no idea about everything in between. So accordingly, I chose this project and to understand this process.

What do I want to achieve? And how?
In a primary step, I first want to understand everything. Probably there is also not "The wastewater treatment" but many different forms, which are adapted to the wastewater of a particular area. In a second step I would like to share my knowledge. I always find it amazing how many everyday things we are not aware of. And besides, additional knowledge is never bad.

For the first goal, I have several options. The easiest would probably be to ask the Internet. But since that would be a bit too short and boring for me, I'm looking for other options. With a little luck, I have the opportunity to speak directly with someone in the field who can answer all my questions.

For the second goal, I depend on my fellow human beings. Do they find it exciting as well? Are they interested? Do they visit Don't waste my energy? Many questions could follow here.

What should the result be so that I am satisfied?
I would like to realize a project that helps me and others. I would like to say, "Yes, I have understood that pretty well now." Especially the environmental aspect should not be neglected. I think that this plays a big role in wastewater treatment.

How does this project benefit me in the future?
With this project, I understand why wastewater treatment exists and how it works. Of course, it is not knowledge that is needed in most everyday life, but it is certainly not bad to know about it. Maybe I will also learn other facts, such as how our environment could be protected and supported even more.
