It seems a miracle
The Namib, a coastal desert in Southern Africa. The cold Benguela current causes the cooled down sea air to carry almost no water inland. The endemic species of the Namib have adapted to this situation, e.g. the Welwitschia or "fog beetles".
Having endured arid or semi-arid conditions for roughly 55–80 million years, the Namib may be the oldest desert in the world.
