Wow, the time went by much faster than expected. A few months ago we started with the projects and now I could publish my contribution.
Especially the beginning of my project I would describe as "bumpy". First of all, I had a completely different idea. I wanted to find out how the social status of a person relates to the environment. Unfortunately, that didn't work out and I had to look for something else.
That's how I came across the sewage plants. Through my apprenticeship at the municipality of Rüti I had easy access to an ARA and so I was able to conduct an interview. This took longer than expected, but it was also very interesting and I was able to learn a lot of things that I would never have found on the Internet otherwise.
But since this interview only reflects the situation in Switzerland, I was still not completely satisfied. I wanted to know how sewage is treated in the rest of the world. First I tried it through my old primary school teacher, because he lived in Thailand for some years. In the end, however, nothing came of it. Ms. Suter then recommended Ms. Kappeler to me, a colleague who deals with wastewater in Africa. Despite e-mail confirmation that Ms. Kappeler would like to help me, I never reached her by phone. So not only did I not find an interview partner, but now I also have to pay a high telephone bill.
Nevertheless, I then started my contribution. I have especially tried to pay attention to bring in many personal aspects and to write as little as possible objectively. Whether it worked I do not know yet, but I find the text already much more subjective than with the IDAF.
Now after the publication I am satisfied how it went. The biggest part of my goals I could reach and so (at least from my point of view) I could deliver a good work.
