Team with Inês, Nina and Alisha
Today we did research on how people create CO2 emissions. Here is a list with the top 4 causes:
1. Burning of fossil fuels -> people do this for heating
2. Deforestation -> this means that the forest gets cut down
3. Transport -> car, bus, train, airplane
4. Cement production -> cement is used for lots of things for example for buildung houses
In a next step we compared our research results with our own daily routines.
On average, a person in Switzerland causes 3.99 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year. Most emissions from private individuals are caused by transport and energy sources. We made a list of how we personally create CO2 emissions:
Nina:
- drives a car
- heating
- goes on holidays with the airplane
Inês:
- uses public transport
- goes on holidays with the airplane
- heating
Alisha:
- uses public transport
- goes on holidays with the airplane
- heating
We also create CO2 emissions because of our consumption behaviour. We buy clothes, shoes, digital devices, imported food.
