Was uns die Elektronik im Klassenzimmer bringt
Wenn in jedem Klassenzimmer alle ein iPad haben, die Wandtafel durch ein interaktives Whiteboard ersetzt wurde und die Arbeitsblätter digital per Bluetooth geteilt werden, dürfte es auch die letzte Person verstanden haben: Wir sind im Zeitalter der Digitalisierung angekommen. Die Integration von Elektronik und digitaler Technologie in Klassenzimmern hat das Potenzial, das Bildungserlebnis von Lernenden und Lehrenden zu revolutionieren. Die Elektronik im Klassenzimmer kann zahlreiche Vorteile bieten, angefangen von der Verbesserung der Lernumgebung bis hin zur Förderung von kritischem Denken und kollaborativem Lernen. Haben Sie sich auch schon gefragt, was eigentlich mit dem Wasser passiert, nachdem es den Abfluss verlassen hat? Bei mir war es auf jeden Fall so. Im Rahmen eines Schulprojektes widmete ich mich der Aufgabe, den Kläranlagen auf den Grund zu gehen, ihre Funktion in einfacher Weise zu verstehen, und dieses Wissen an Interessierte weiterzugeben. For the IDAF project, I was able to achieve some goals and some are still ongoing. Here is an overview:

- For the work dossier from the subject German, I solved subtasks 4 and 5 of work assignment 4. 

- I was able to write my newspaper article about how a wastewater treatment plant works. I deliberately left out my personal experience and the interview, about wastewater in Africa. The first, because it was not planned for this newspaper article and the second, because the interview has not yet taken place. 

I contacted various newspapers and a blog and received different answers:

- Einfach mehr (Blog): I was able to get on the phone with Raphael from „Einfach Mehr“ on Wednesday evening. He is willing to give me the opportunity to publish something on their blog. He even gave me a login for that. Until the 26th of April I will publish a draft there.

- Nachrichten aus Greifensee: The NaG editorial team and I have missed each other by phone so far. Even though I would find it very cool to publish an article in my regional newspaper, I see it as rather difficult. Actually, only topics that have something to do with Greifensee are considered.  Phone call is pending.

- Der Botschafter: I received a phone call from "Der Botschafter" yesterday. Unfortunately, I did not notice it. I will try to reach them again today.

- Obersee Nachrichten: On April 19, I wrote an e-mail to this newspaper. Unfortunately, no answer received until now.

- umweltnetz-schweiz: This online newspaper has already contacted me back by e-mail. I have not yet had time to reply. The chances are not bad that it could work out there.

I just got off the phone with Raphael. He and his wife own the blog "Einfach mehr". Just like me, he thinks it's great that I'm doing such a project. I told him that my post would be a part about the wastewater treatment, a part about the environmental aspect, a part about my visit at a wastewater treamtment sewage and a part about my interview with Ms Kappeler and the wastewater situation abroad. He thinks it would be okay if I would publish something on their blog and also said that it might be worthwhile to write several posts. To be able to get an overview, he even gives me a login for their site. Then I can look around a bit and write a first draft. Now I'm happy!

What my job is: 

The goal of the IDAF is to publish at least one short article/information about your project on an official channel. It is up to you on which channel (radio, television, newspaper, etc.) and in what form (article in a newspaper/magazine, TV report on Schweiz Aktuell, Watson, podcast, etc.) this happens.

How I want to achieve it:

I want o publish my article in a newspaper or a blog. In particular, I would like to do without a large publisher like Blick, the NZZ or SRF. I see greater chances of success with a small, regional newspaper or blog. I reach the various media houses by email and see where I get an answer and where I don't. But first I only write a request as to whether my own articles are desired at all and only in a second step do I effectively send in my own article. In order to ensure correct German, I send the text to my German teacher for correction in advance. More...

To make it clear for the readers, I would like to ask Ms Kappeler what exactly her role is, how she is involved, and what her previous professional steps have been.

1. What are the main challenges and issues related to wastewater treatment in rural areas in Africa?

2. What happens in practice with the wastewater?

3. How does the lack of adequate wastewater treatment infrastructure impact public health and environmental sustainability in these countries?

4. What are the current practices or technologies being used for wastewater treatment in rural areas in Africa, and what are their limitations?

5. Are there any innovative or sustainable solutions that have been successfully implemented in similar contexts for wastewater treatment in Africa?

6. What are the social, economic, and cultural factors that influence wastewater treatment practices in rural areas in Africa?

7. What are the potential risks and impacts of untreated wastewater on local communities, ecosystems, and water resources in these countries?

9. What are the key barriers or challenges in improving wastewater treatment infrastructure and practices in rural areas in Africa, and how can they be addressed?

>Is there a sewage system

>How does it work with flushing - are there more water flushing or other systems?

>What types of WC are common, which are most common where?

>Difference urban/rural

>Where does the waste water flow to (sea, river, ...)

>What resources are available (resources or budget for wastewater, e.g., staff, vehicles, technology)?

These are my goals for today:

- Fill out the forms ✔️

- Prepare E-Mails and write to newspaper (NaG, Watson …)✔️

- Clean up my account on the horse✔️

As there have been some developments with my collaborators, I would like to provide a brief update.

• The meeting with the wastewater treatment team from Rüti went smoothly, and I have an audio recording to transcribe the discussions.
• I have also managed to secure Ms. Alexandra Kappeler as a collaboration partner. She is an expert in wastewater management both domestically and internationally. She is currently in Ethiopia this week, but I will try to contact her next week to finalize the details.

I am happy that this has worked out, as it will give me the opportunity to gain insights into wastewater management practices in another country.
